interesting
Thursday, April 27th, 2006this morning, before mike went to work, i was telling him about my strange day yesterday. i went to the grocery store and filled my cart up with baby stuff (oh my god baby meat. they have baby food lamb. i don’t even eat lamb. i’m not feeding my babies cute fuzzy little lambs. babies eating baby lambs. ick). the checker was pale and kept holding her head in her hands like she had a migraine. i asked, “are you okay? you look like you are going to pass out” and she assured me “no, no, i’m fine, i feel like i’m going to fall over but i’ll make it”. she continued checking my groceries but two minutes in she rested her head in her hands and mumbled “i think i need someone to come over here” and stumbled a bit. i walked around to her side, grabbed her arm and led her over to a bench where she continued to wobble until someone else came to help. i felt bad for her because i’ve been in that position before and you never feel worse than you feel when you are sick at work. there’s no real point to this story, i was just telling mike about my day and ended with “so, that was interesting.”
he answered “that is interesting but listen to this. i walked out to the garage last night to smoke and saw something furry run under the shelf. i thought about looking under there but decided putting my face under there was a bad idea so i stood over by the door and silently watched. a minute later i heard it moving around and creeped over to see what it was and…. there was a possum. it was sitting up in the middle seat of the triplet stroller looking at me. it definitely didn’t play dead- it was hanging out waiting to see if i was gonna mess with it. i opened the garage door all the way to see if it would run out when it saw freedom but it just sat there. i grabbed a rake and kind of poked at it with the handle and it started hissing and baring its teeth but still didn’t move. finally, i pushed the stroller out of the garage into the driveway and when i looked at it again it had curled up to take a nap while i pushed it. it still didn’t move. so, i poked it again with the rake and it finally jumped out and ran off. crazy possum”.
his interesting story won.
