i <3 flickr

As of today, I have 15,337 photos on flickr which is a staggering amount of photos. I guess half of them are camera phone photos so they are low resolution, low quality pictures. I visit flickr multiple times per day but don’t use it as a community resource as much as I do a storage place. Obviously, I take a hell of a lot of pictures but I don’t consider myself anywhere near a professional quality photographer. It is embarrassing how many photos I take where my camera is set to automatic- I don’t push the bounds of the technical side of photography and maybe I never will. I’m glad I have a visual memory of my life and my kids because I would forget much of it without proof.

There have been 443,672 views of my photos as well. This picture of Ethan as a newborn is the most popular in the entire bunch:

First Days

I could tell the story of his birth, NICU stay and how I felt at the time but nothing will ever convey as much as this one picture. This is why I have my camera, why I take so many pictures and why I’m glad flickr makes it so much easier to sort, find and use these moments of my life.

Medical science (combined with a mama’s love) is so amazing! To think that a baby that small is now a healthy little boy running around and playing with his equally miraculous siblings is just amazing.

And Ethan was the biggest of the triplets!

I love Flickr too, but like you I dont’ really use it as a community place–just storage. I’d really like to get into my account at some point and organize my photos a little better.
