We put up the Christmas tree tonight. The kids want it to be Christmas now and don’t understand why they have to wait. I tell them not to wish their December away or they’ll miss out on looking at lights, building gingerbread houses, baking cookies and singing Jingle Bells. They still want Christmas now. It seems so far away for them and so close for me.

Charlie was too young to understand Christmas last year and this year he’s blissfully unaware that it’s coming up. I guess when the tree goes up we’ll start talking about it.
